Sensory Basket
Adult supervision is required at all times because the contents of the treasure basket are for sensory exploration only and are not toys.
The Sensory Basket and a Baby's Development
The contents of the Basket will help to support a baby’s learning and development in a number of ways. It will support Physical Development as they will use fine motor skills to explore the objects, which will strengthen their hand muscles, along with improving hand-eye coordination. The basket is also beneficial to your baby’s sensory development. Firstly Touch-the basket contains different textured objects for the baby to touch, hold and feel e.g feather. The baby will also benefit from holding different objects in their hands e.g. tambourine. Secondly Sight-there are objects within the basket to promote a baby’s eye sight development e.g. black and white fabric card. Thirdly Sound-there are objects to introduce the baby to different sounds e.g. egg shaker. Fourthly Smell-there is a pouch with dried orange inside.
